Boys Hockey

The boy’s hockey team have had a very successful and enjoyable season.

Portadown Times Tournament

The A team started off their season playing in the Portadown Times tournament and they sailed through the group stage and were the overall winners of their group.  The boys played Seagoe Primary School in the semi finals and won 4-0.  They then faced Armstrong Primary School in the final and after a very close and exciting match the boys conceded their only goal of the tournament to lose 1-0.  This was a very impressive and exciting start to the season.

Mid Ulster League

As the current Mid Ulster League Champions the A team were looking forward to try and retain their title for another season.  Their first match was against Bocombra Primary School and they won convincingly 5-0.  This score was matched in their next league match against Seagoe Primary School again winning 5-0. A draw against Edenderry Primary School, Portadown meant that the boys had won their section of the league and were through to the final again.  A round robin was played against Hart Memorial and Windsor Hill with the boys beating Windsor Hill 3-1 and Hart Memorial 2-0.  Mid Ulster Champions again!! Well done boys!!

Décor Trophy

The impressive form has continued with the boys reaching the final of the Décor Trophy. Highlights were wins against Hart Memorial Primary School and Edenderry Primary School, Banbridge.   The final has yet to be played with the boys hoping to add another trophy to the cabinet!

B Team

The B team have enjoyed some friendly matches and have shown great progress with their skills thought the year.  They played Bocombra in a very close and thrilling match which ended with a 1-0 lose.  This was they first time many of the boys had played for the school and they were excellent ambassadors for the school in their play and behaviour.

In May they played Edenderry Primary School, Banbridge on a roasting hot Tuesday afternoon.  Some super play was rewarded with a 1-1 draw.  It has been lovely to see the boys improving and working as a team as the season has gone on.
