Football report 2011 – 2012

It is with great pride I write about our footballing year. The squad played their best to a man and displayed the best of sportsmanship despite some provocation at times. I am grateful to the boys who never let us down all season as there no cautions given to any of our boys over the course of 12 matches. Thanks to Mr. Hamilton who travelled with us on many occasions and the many Mums, Dads and friends for their most welcome support.

Mid Ulster Cup

Unfortunately we faced a strong Tandragee side with a weakened untried team and were put out in the first round

Jones 5-a-side shield

We progressed as group winners to the semi-final. We won our group while only conceding one goal. Our goal difference and points score was more than double that of our nearest rival. Unfortunately we were beaten 1 – 0 in the semi – final

Mid Ulster League

We played 3 league games during February and March. Our opponents this season were Seagoe, Drumgor and Fairhill Primary schools. Thankfully we won all 3 matches with a goal difference of + 8.

As winners of our section of the league we faced Bocombra P.S. in the grand final at Tandragee F.C. grounds on 23rd April. We participated in a marvellous match and I feel we were a little unlucky to loose 3 – 2.

Cheeny Park 7-a-side

We progressed as group winners to the semi-final. We won our group while only conceding two goals during 4 matches. Unfortunately we were beaten on penalties in the semi – final after a 1 – 1 result
