Gala Ball

Thank you to everyone who attended or supported our GALA BALL on Saturday 15th October, and what a fantastic night it was!

Over 100 parents and friends met at Edenmore Country Club for a glittering evening. It was a real ‘Black Tie’ affair with the ladies all looking stunning in their beautiful dresses and the men folk very handsome indeed. After a red carpet arrival and drinks reception, we moved to the Kircassock Suite which had been prepared to perfection, where we were served a delicious four course meal. The empty plates going back to the kitchen were proof of how much everyone enjoyed the fare. Following this we had the Raffle draw for prizes big and small which raised almost £1500.

Then followed a short tribute to Mr Philip Wallace, in whose honour the evening had been arranged. A lovely photographic presentation was followed by words of tribute about his life and work in school. Everyone including his wife and other friends and family of Philip present, appreciated the memories and stories. Whilst at times emotional it was never morose and was indeed a fitting tribute to a much loved colleague and friend.

The silent auction raised a further £1500 with very generous bids for really exceptional items.

For the rest of the evening we danced the night away to live music provided by ‘Anthem’, a new and most exciting function band, who kept the tunes rolling and the floor didn’t clear even for a moment.

Everyone went home having enjoyed an outstanding evening.

Thanks to Edenmore for hosting the night and for their attention to detail.

Thanks to all our sponsors and friends who gave items for the raffle and auction or donations. The total so far is almost £4000 with further donations still coming in. A very worthwhile evening for an even more worthwhile cause. We will be able to purchase the defibrillator and training pack, maintain it over the next few years and have money to present to Chest, Heart and Stroke NI.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a success, both through your generosity in giving and by your willingness to take part and enjoy yourselves. Many people have asked that we arrange another ball sometime in the future so ‘watch this space’ and if you missed it this time, don’t miss out again! We will be talking about it for a long time to come.
